Our Staff

Meet our physicians, nurse practitioners, Primary Care Network (PCN) clinicians, and medical office assistants.

Dr. Danielle Marentette

Danielle has been practicing in qathet since 2008, providing Family Medical care for patients in the clinic, home, and long-term care settings. A graduate of the UBC Medical school, she heard about qathet from her husband. She fell in love with the Harvie Avenue clinic, medical community, and qathet lifestyle during her rural residency rotation. Her husband is a high school teacher, and they have two children. Dani has a special interest in whole-foods, plant-based nutrition as medicine and in using lifestyle changes to improve health.

Dr. Katayoun Bahadori

Originally from Iran, Katayoun and her family moved to Vancouver in 2002, where she completed her family practice residency at the University of British Columbia. Katayoun has been practicing in qathet since 2017 and—along with her husband, daughter, and German Shepherds—has quickly fallen for Powell River’s charms. She emphasizes preventive medicine and health promotion in her practice. She is deeply committed to acting as a health advocate for her patients, empowering them through a collaborative, patient-centred, and uniquely educational approach to healthcare.

Dr. Martin Andreae

Martin and his wife moved from South Africa to qathet in 2012. He has a full-service family practice with a special interest in metabolic and longevity medicine and using lifestyle approaches to improve health and prevent chronic disease. He loves being a father of three children in this beautiful part of the West Coast and appreciates the variety of outdoor activities qathet has to offer. Martin also enjoys woodworking, archery, photography and ultra-distance endurance events. He speaks fluent English, German, and Afrikaans.

Melinda Herceg, NP

Melinda is a Nurse Practitioner with the qathet Division of Family Practice and Primary Care Network. She has twenty-five years of nursing experience, including extensive work in public health, prevention, and chronic disease management. She values team-based, community-centred care and looks forward to supporting patients and providers across qathet.

When she’s not in the clinic, she enjoys hiking local trails and exploring new places.

Teresa Walters

Teresa is a Nurse Practitioner with the qathet Division of Family Practice and Primary Care Network. Her practice is shaped by diverse clinical environments and a strong foundation in both acute and primary care.

Teresa and her family relocated to qathet to be closer to family and a better work/life balance. She enjoys cycling, swimming, knitting, and spending time adventuring with her two children.
