COVID-19 Testing at the Powell River Complex Clinic

COVID-19 testing is now available at the Powell River Complex Clinic daily from 8:30 - 11:30am.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please go to www.prcomplexclinic.com or call 604-485-2028 to register for a test.

Should you get tested?

Please make an appointment to get tested at the Complex Clinic if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever / chills

  • New onset or worsening cough

  • New onset or worsening fatigue

  • Sore throat / hoarse voice

  • Loss of appetite / difficulty swallowing

  • Headache

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain

  • Loss of taste or smell

  • Runny nose, sneezing, or nasal congestion

  • Shortness of breath

Why is screening not recommended for people who don't have symptoms?

At the present time in BC, based on the available evidence, COVID-19 testing of asymptomatic individuals (people who don't have symptoms), outside of an outbreak scenario, is considered likely to be of low yield. Therefore this is not considered an effective use of health system resources and is not recommended. For more detailed information please see this document from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BC Ministry of Health).

How do I know whether to make an appointment at the Complex Clinic or go to Emergency at the Hospital?

If you are having difficulty breathing or are experiencing any other severe symptoms, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to Emergency at the Hospital. If your symptoms are not severe, but you do have symptoms on this list please make an appointment to get tested at the Complex Clinic. You can do that by filling out the form on this page, or calling (604) 485-2028 between 8:30 am and 12 pm daily.

COVID-19 Updated Clinic Policy

Your safety and health is our #1 concern and we want you to continue to call us to book appointments as you need them for all your health concerns.

To protect you from COVID-19, you can now see our clinic care providers by video and telephone. This allows you to get care while social distancing or quarantined. After your video or phone assessment, if you need to be seen in person, we will make arrangements to do so safely.

To book a telephone or video appointment, please call: 604-485-0136. Please do not come to our office without calling first.

Prescription Renewal by phone/fax - $25.00

Disability Tax Credit Form (A00069) - $40.00

Travel Advice - $40.00

Chart Transfer - $40.00

CPP Form - $50.00

New Medication Refill Policy

As of October 1st 2019, we will no longer provide medication refills over the phone or by fax.

We aim to provide you with the right amount of medication as part of a schedule of care tailored to meet individual patient health care needs.

This schedule of care includes office visits for monitoring and assessment of progress, modification of care plans, and check-ups for ongoing or emerging health concerns.

We understand that exceptional circumstances may arise and will work with you and your pharmacy to assist in these times. A fee will be charged as this service is not covered by the provincial insurance plan (MSP).
